Jewelry Care Instructions
Store your jewelry in a dry place, preferably in a jewelry box.
Do not wear your jewelry while exercising, sleeping, or coming into contact with water.
Avoid contact with hairspray, perfume, lotion, or other chemicals.
Gold- and silver-plated items that are not waterproof should not come into contact with water, as this can cause discoloration.
Electroplating
Often used on pearls to provide an extra protective layer that can make them more resistant to wear, scratches, and discoloration, but they are still not waterproof.
Durable Gold or Silver Plating
Durable gold- or silver-plated jewelry has undergone a process that applies a thicker layer of plating than regular gold- or silver-plated jewelry. This makes the jewelry more durable, but it is still not waterproof.
Waterproof Jewelry
Waterproof jewelry is enhanced with advanced Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) technology and is the most durable type of jewelry. This technology strengthens the jewelry, protects against oxidation and discoloration, and ensures the color lasts longer than regular gold- or silver-plated pieces. Additionally, this technology is environmentally friendly, as no harmful chemicals are used.
